The cook is responsible for the preparation and cooking of food in the community. Ensure that all meals are prepared and presented according to Rayas Paradise standards.

• Provide a high level of culinary customer service and promote a restaurant style dining atmosphere.
• Work closely with the Director of Culinary Services and/or Executive Director to keep residents satisfied with food and dining programs.
• Maintain kitchen and food storage and preparation areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition at all times.
• Responsible for the opening and/or closing of the kitchen.
• Adhere to cleaning schedules as assigned.
• Ensures that all food is received, stored, and prepared according to Company standards.
• Estimate daily or weekly needs of food and supplies and communicates needs to Director of Culinary Services .
• Participate in preparing and cooking meals according to established recipes and approved menus.
• Document temperatures of food prior to service, refrigeration and freezer.
• Prepare and ensure snacks and beverages are available to residents at all times.
• Keep kitchen floors clean (sweeps and mops) and trash emptied.
• Assist with the transportation and storage of food and supplies.
• Adhere to Quality Enhancement standards and standard food safety practices.
• Assist with preparation and execution of special events, banquets, and theme meals.
• Will attend pre-meal stand up in kitchen prior to meal service.
• May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of experience as a cook in a hospitality or healthcare environment.
• Food handlers permit as required by state law and/or Company standards.
• Able to read and follow recipes and printed production guides, cleaning schedules, and logs
• Able to successfully pass a DOJ/FBI background check, pre-employment physical exam and be free of Tuberculosis as evidenced by a TB test.
• Must be able to obtain CA food handlers certificate;
• Must be able to communicate both written and orally in English;
• Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs., push/pull up to 40 lbs., carry up to 30 lbs., frequent standing and walking required;

Caregivers are responsible for providing care and supervision to residents, arranging appointments, and assisting residents with various needs.

Responsibilities include:

• Provide care and supervision to residents.  Report to facility administrator updates.
• Be responsible for the safety and well being of residents.
• Assists with medications, centrally storing and distributing medication.
• Arranges and assists with medical and dental care including appointments.
• Maintains and supervises house rules for overall protection of residents.
• Assist residents to prepare for the night.
• Maintains and supervises residents’ property.
• Helps prepare food and monitors intake.
• Cleans, sets the table and helps with duties to make facility function well.
• Assists in continuous observation of residents with regards to their physical/mental/emotional well-being.
• Initiates and assists in implementing disaster plan when needed.
• Provides first aid measures when needed.
• Notifies administrator of all occurrences with the residents, physical environment of the facility and other staff members.
• Measure residents’ vital signs daily or as needed (for record purpose only).
• Walk residents outside the facility premises on a daily basis.
• Provides assistance with feeding to those in need (when assisting with feeding, make sure residents eat very slowly and observe for aspiration).
• Night shift makes rounds in interval not exceeding 60-90 minutes to assure safety of residents.
• For those who need, assist with rotating to avoid pressure points.
• Assists with dressing, grooming, bathing and other personal hygiene activities on a daily basis including activities and socialization.
• Cleans entire facility (mops floor, cleans under and inside all sofas including the sofa pillows, cleans the restrooms and kitchen thoroughly).
• Cleans residents’ rooms, cleans outdoor areas all around the facility.
• Assist in meal preparation (all meals)/ places all grocery orders, assists with delivering to facility and organizing in the main storage area

The Driver is responsible for transporting residents to and from appointments and outings in a safe manner and overseeing vehicle maintenance and logs.

Responsibilities include:

• Transport residents to and from all regularly scheduled activities, and to all personal appointments such as physician appointments, banking and grocery shopping.
• Assist residents in and out of all vehicles as needed.
• Ensure residents are safely seated with seatbelts and, if applicable, wheelchair locking mechanism intact.
• Account for all residents’ presence when leaving or returning to the community.
• Keep all vehicles fueled, tagged, inspected, and clean. Keep record of all maintenance on each vehicle.
• Report any problems with vehicles to Supervisor.
• Prepare transportation charge slips for residents with time, mileage and destination information properly documented with residents’ signature.
• Deliver transportation slips to Business Office for bill purposes as completed.
• Maintain a transportation log for each vehicle.
• Respond to resident requests in a timely and friendly ammner.
• Maintain confidentiality with all resident information.
• Treat all residents with respect.

Housekeeping/ Laundry Attendants are responsible for providing laundry and housekeeping services to  our residents.

Duties:

• Ensure that work and cleaning schedule is followed
• Responsible for the daily laundry services for homes assigned
• Collect soiled laundry (linens and clothing) from each assigned home
• Sort unwashed articles by color and fabric and tracks all items collected
• Load and unload automatic washing and drying machines; wash, fold, and delivers Clean floors and walls (sweeping, mopping, dusting, spot cleaning).
• Clean work/supply carts, equipment, supplies, etc., as requested.
• Maintain accurate record of all in-coming and out-going clothing items
• File laundry sheets and request records for future reference.
• Routinely handle chemicals commonly used in laundry and performs custodial duties in the laundry area.
• Attend and participate in facility mandatory in-service training programs as scheduled.
• Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident care information including protected health information
• Performs housekeeping duties in the resident suite and common areas of the assigned homes.
• Cleans (dust, dry mop, wet mop, sanitize, scrub) assigned resident suites and common areas daily.
• Disposes of trash and waste, other materials in a safe manner.
• Maintains par levels of supplies and assists with ordering of products.
• Perform all other duties, as assigned.
